This lovely Victorian owl necklace circa 1880s is unmarked but tests as solid silver, likely around 800 grade silver.
Owls have long been associated with wisdom and although they are somewhat rare and difficult to find, they were a beloved motif in Victorian era jewelry.
I recently wore this piece and received so many compliments on it!
