Victorian ladies often wore elegant little shoes called evening slippers when going out for a ball or formal event, but these delicate shoes (usually made of silk) weren't really suitable for anything but indoor wear, especially on muddy streets.
Particularly during the colder times of the year, carriage boots were a fashionable yet practical option to wear over the slipper during your carriage ride.
These lovely black velvet boots feature a rabbit fur trim and a faux fleece lining. They are quite similar to a pair at the Albany Institute of History & Art. The soles are leather.
The faux fleece lining is cozy, comfy, and warm!

They measure 10 3/4" long, 3 1/8" wide, and 11" tall.
Wearable with extra care and would likely work for a size 7.5-8 worn without shoes underneath.

They are in good condition with minor wear:
- A fair amount of fur loss around the trim
- Small hole on the back of one heel
- Some blemishes to the velvet
- Shattering in the ribbon
Beautiful for display or study but you could also wear these with extra care. I wouldn't recommend wearing them with shoes underneath, however!
They are overall quite sturdy except for the silk ribbon, which has some shattering and is somewhat delicate. If desired, this ribbon is easily replaceable in the future.
