Gorgeous hand carved corset busk circa early-mid 19th century.
This piece likely was carved by a sailor for his wife or sweetheart. It is made of baleen and features beautiful imagery and symbolism of love, devotion, magic, and protection.
A beautiful display piece, both sides are carved. Inscribed with the letters WE and ST as well as many other symbols including an eye, a 10-point star, a flag or banner with three stars and stripes, and more.
