Stunning early 19th century / Georgian era gold long guard chain. Unmarked but all parts tested for at least 14k gold, possibly 15k.
What I love about this chain is the incredibly unique figural hand motif depicting a fist holding onto the bail, which is an old style hinged swivel clip. The end of the "bail" curves around the back of the hand, giving it an almost "living" effect, like a wriggling tail.
It also has a beautiful solid 14k gold slide, and the chain can be worn in a variety of different ways, doubled or tripled for medium and choker length styles.
Perfect for creatively styling with fobs and pendants or beautiful on its own.
Very special and unique piece! I have never seen one with a fist in this particular style.
