Really fabulous pink silk bodice with purple trim circa late 1860s to very early 1870s.
This is a hard to find color and quite a beautiful one! Though there is some color fading, I still think it makes an incredibly stunning display piece.
Bodice is lined with brown cotton and boned. Buttons down the front center with four hidden hooks and eyes also at the waist.
The sleeve cuffs are lined with cream silk and trimmed with net lace. I'm not certain if the sleeves were meant to be worn with the cuffs turned out or not (I thought of this *after* I finished taking the photos), but perhaps it was an aesthetic choice, optional for the wearer?
Lots and lots of beautiful hand stitching on this piece, though a few seams were done with a machine.
My favorite bits about this piece are the bows and of course the beautiful back! She really is a special one :)

Lovely condition, especially considering its age.
There is one missing button, the bottom one, so it is not very noticeable. Most notably there is color fading to the silk, as well as a few small spots/stains. I did not notice any tears or strong odors. The lining is quite clean and the boning is intact. Even the delicate silk cuff lining is in great condition.
Still, considering this piece is made of silk and is very old, I would not recommend it for wearing. Best as a display or study piece.
