I am still in awe of this gorgeous silk dress circa 1911-1912. The condition is impeccable and the details are so, so good!
High collar with wire collar stays and floral Schiffli lace (lined with bobbinet). Dress is fully lined with cotton, bodice and skirt.
Hook and bar closures down the back, both on the lining and outer dress. Hook and bar closures also at the cuffs of the fitted sleeves.
Asymmetrical skirt and high waist with attached belt that closes with hooks and bars at the back.
The color and subtle leaf and diamond pattern on the blue silk is really stunning. It does not seem at all faded (it is less vibrant in some of the photos for some reason, but the color is truly a deep and bright blue in person). The black velvet on the bodice front provides a beautiful contrast, with geometric triangular points and decorative velvet buttons.
I don't like to throw around the term "museum quality," but there is no doubt this dress would be an excellent addition to any collection.

Lovely condition! The silk is still soft and strong, and I only spotted a few tiny flaws, despite its age:
- Missing a hook and bar
- Small white spot on one sleeve I have not tried cleaning
- Some seam separations around the collar area
- Small tear in the bodice lining
There may be minor wear from age that I have missed, but overall this dress is fantastic and displays beautifully.
I wouldn't recommend this piece for normal wear, but it would be suitable for a photo shoot if treated with extra care.
