Incredible inky black silk suit circa 1910s! This is a museum quality, designer piece by Gannon New York (label inside jacket).
It is wonderfully silky and luxurious, with a velvet collar and sleeve accents. The jacket features braided cording and decorative buttons and is lined with white silk.
The skirt is ankle length (unfortunately it was a bit too long for my dress form, so please excuse the photos) and has a grosgrain waistband, snap and hook and eye closures on the side.
The jacket closes with two large hooks/eyes and a single velvet covered button.

Lovely condition with some flaws to note:
- Velvet collar has some splits and wear
- Silk jacket lining has some repairs and tears/splitting, wear around the button
- Skirt has a very small cigarette burn that isn't quite a hole
- Hem has been let out (not really a flaw, but worth noting)
Overall this piece would be wearable with extra care. It has been steamed and is free of strong odors. It should not be washed. It is truly museum worthy and would be lovely as a study or display piece.
