This incredible, one of a kind fan is unlike anything I've ever seen before. It features fifteen original ink drawings as well as a monogram that likely represents the artist's signature.
Circa 1890s-1900s, the artwork is very much in the style of Charles Dana Gibson.
I am unsure of the origin of this piece or the artist, but one possible explanation is that it was created for a fundraiser or gala by an artist or attendee. I have seen some examples of these in reference books and museums, some done by famous artists such as Salvador Dali.
This exquisite piece would be beautiful framed and displayed. It is made of wood and textured paper. Possibly made in Japan and imported.
