This adorable dress is made in the style of an 1860s dress but it was made around the turn on the century, likely as a costume.
It is also possible that the dress was altered from an earlier dress.
Fabulously full skirt with cartridge pleats. Steel shank buttons down the center front of the bodice. Hook and eye closures at waist. Single pocket in the skirt.
Both machine and hand stitched. Many of the seams are hand finished. Hand sewn button holes.
The fabric is a lightweight, woven cotton of light brown, dark brown, and white.

Overall good condition with some flaws to note:
- Several patches in the skirt that were done somewhat recently
- A few small holes- one in the shoulder, some in the skirt near hem
- Some scattered stains throughout, though they blend with the pattern
- Small seam separation adjacent to pocket
