A super special Scottish agate brooch in sterling silver with beautiful swirled, milky grey-blue Montrose agates, circa mid-late 19th century.
I am a huge fan of Victorian era Scottish jewelry, but I've never seen this design before with the arrow through the heart!
These agates come from the Montrose area on the eastern side of Scotland.
During the Victorian era, Scottish agate jewelry became extremely popular due to Queen Victoria's love of all things Scottish.
Unmarked but tested as sterling silver.

Lovely condition overall with some minor age-related wear and patina. Some of the stone sizes/shapes don't exactly match up with the settings but they are secure.
