Very unique 19th c. watch fob in the shape of a chicken with a carved intaglio seal with the phrase "I Hope I Don't Intrude" on the bottom along with the figure of a man carrying an umbrella.
This wonderful little piece seems to be inspired by the 1825 comedic play "Paul Pry" by John Poole.
The fob is gold filled and the intaglio is glass.

Good condition overall. There is some very minor wear to the surface of the seal. The chicken leans slightly to one side.
