Beautiful black enamel and 14k gold oval locket with a pearl in the center of a gold star. Circa 1860s-1870s.
This was originally a normal locket, modified at some point to create an open back locket. Hangs on a 19th century 15" gold filled book chain.
Both from my personal collection. I have really enjoyed wearing these pieces together and get so many compliments every time I do!

This is an imperfect piece but wears beautifully. There is some surface wear to the black enamel and a small chip in the enamel on one edge. These flaws are not noticeable when worn, and in my opinion do not detract from the beauty of it.
The chain has some minor wear and patina but is in overall good antique condition.
