Fabulous side button boots circa 1910s. These were a child's school shoe, or at least that is how I have seen them advertised. I was so taken by the logo on the sole!
These are "Hard Knocker" shoes by Kirkendall's, and I have included a couple of images from newspaper advertisements for them, one from 1910 and another from 1913.
+++ Measurements +++
Sizing on boots is always approximate, and I urge you to take careful measurements and ask any questions prior to purchasing.
These seem to be an approximate size 5 US women's, but please check the following measurements. They are marked with the number 3 on the bottom of the sole.
9.5" inner sole length
3" width measured across the bottom of the sole at the ball of the foot, and 9" circumference at the same spot measured from the outside (at the first button).
7.25" total height, 1.25" heel.
8" circumference at the top opening.
+++ Condition +++
Great condition, deadstock, meaning never worn. They do have a very slight amount of wear from being stored over the years. The leather is still soft and supple.
They are wearable with care but please be aware they are antique boots. I highly recommend finding a cobbler you trust who can do maintenance and repairs on your shoes. It is usually very affordable and will extend the lifetime of your shoes by so much!
