This bodice c. 1894-1895 has the biggest sleeves of any piece I've personally come across. It is a rather small garment and the sleeves make up the majority of it!
A very finely made piece, it is a cream silk brocade, lined with cotton and fully boned all around. It has an inner bodice that fastens with hooks and eyes down the center front, and a front panel that covers this, fastening on the shoulder and down the side with hooks/eyes and hooks/thread closures.
There is a silk inner waistband that fastens with a single hook and eye. Substantial bust padding. The sleeves are lined with buckram to give them structure.
The upper sleeves are extremely voluminous and the fitted cuffs have a pretty beaded design.

Lovely condition overall, especially considering age. It is structurally sound and the silk is in fabulous condition. There are some stains, mainly on the sleeves, which are mostly lost in the folds. The lining also has a few stains, which are not visible on the outside.
One sleeve has a repair on the back side, slightly visible on close inspection. On the inside of this sleeve, some of the lining has come loose. If you are purchasing this for study, it is a great opportunity to take a look at what's inside!
Overall this piece would be wearable with care. It should not be washed/submerged in water. It has been steam cleaned and is free of odors.
